BTB semi-automatic air-cooled MIG guns are available with a choice of two gun cable options: Hytrel® polymer (industrial grade) or steel monocoil cable. The key difference between the two cables is the material of the inner tube at the center of the cable through which the gun liner, wire and shielding gas travels.

The steel monocoil cable offers extra structural integrity to the cable, giving it superior pinch resistance which helps to ensure good gas flow and wire feedability. Users in industries or welding applications that require longer gun cables that are frequently looped or stretched around corners to the point of pinching are the ones who should consider upgrading their welding guns to our specialty steel monocoil cable.

The majority of our welding gun users do not experience these issues, and enjoy long, dependable product performance with our heavy-duty Hytrel polymer cable.

    The Common Consumables Platform™ means less consumable inventory is needed to maximize flexibility and productivity across a variety of MIG welding applications.

    Durable, long-lasting Bernard® and Tregaskiss® consumables are designed for maximum flexibility and compatibility between a variety of consumable parts, gun models, and welding applications.

    AccuLock™ Consumables

    Bernard AccuLock™ S and Tregaskiss AccuLock R consumables share a common contact tip. If you have a combination of Tregaskiss robotic, fixed automatic and Bernard semi-automatic MIG guns in your facility, you’ll benefit from the reduced costs and simplified inventory of a Common Consumable Platform.

    TOUGH LOCK® Consumables

    In most cases, the same Tregaskiss nozzles, TOUGH LOCK® contact tips and QUICK LOAD® liners can be used with Tregaskiss TOUGH GUN® robotic and fixed automatic MIG guns, and Bernard® BTB and TGX® semi-automatic MIG guns.

      Double-Life MIG Gun System

      Double the life of your BTB MIG Gun!

      Our built-to-order MIG guns keep on welding in the harshest and most abusive environments. The innovative Double-life MIG gun system* from Bernard allows you to extend the life of your BTB semi-automatic air-cooled MIG gun equipped with a T Series or C Series straight handle.

      How It Works

      BTB MIG guns with T Series and C Series straight handles have identical front and back handles and internal connections. Once the front end of the cable becomes worn, simply flip-flop the neck and trigger from the front end of the gun with the power pin on the back.

      Arrows indicate that front and back end components of a straight handle BTB MIG gun model can be swapped to take advantage of the double-life MIG gun system

      This results in a newer front handle to work with and the worn handle and cable moves to the feeder end of the MIG gun, extending the life of your gun.


      *The Double-life MIG gun system is not compatible with B Series curved, B Series small curved, O Series curved, O Series small curved, or T Series small straight handle styles, or to any handle style if the MIG gun is equipped with Bernard®, OXO™ or Euro power pin options.

        Dual Taper Technology

        We’ve added a second taper at the rear of our TOUGH LOCK® retaining heads feature a second taper at the rear, so there is one taper for the contact tip connection and a second for the neck.

        Dual Taper Technology

        Dual taper technology creates a more secure seat, preventing the contact tip and retaining head from loosening due to vibration.
