Q-Gun MIG Gun Backend Upgrade

Effective June 27, 2005

In 2005, Q-Gun™ MIG Guns began shipping with upgraded back end assemblies. It is important to know which back end assembly your Q-Gun MIG Gun has when choosing replacement parts. Use the drawings below to determine which back end you have.

Old Back End Assembly

The rigid strain relief of the old back end assembly is held together by two screws. It also has an independent plastic bushing and a power pin with female threads.

Upgraded Back End Assembly

The upgraded back end assembly features a rigid strain relief with thicker walls and an integrated power pin bushing for increased durability and reduced parts. Power pins have male threads and can be easily changed without removing the rigid strain relief. Trigger cable adapters also make cutting and splicing trigger wires unnecessary.

New Direct Plug Kits

Direct Plug Kits now include all parts necessary to ensure reverse compatibility with Q-Guns that have old back end assemblies. To switch direct plug styles, see the Direct Plug Kits page to select the direct plug kit best suited for your feeder make and model.
