WINDSOR, Ontario. July 21, 2010—Tregaskiss plans to attend this year’s FABTECH International/AWS Welding Show including METALFORM in Atlanta, November 2 to 4 at the Georgia World Congress Center. There, the company will display its newest semi-automatic and robotic MIG guns, welding consumables and robotic peripherals at Booth # 6811 in Hall C, which it will share with Miller Electric Mfg. Co, Hobart Brothers, Weldcraft and Bernard. Products to be showcased have been selected on their ability to lower maintenance and downtime costs, and improve productivity on semi-automatic and robotic welding applications. They include:
• Redesigned TGX MIG Guns: These guns are designed for light- and medium-duty applications and are available in five models ranging from 180 to 400 amps. The guns are also available in three standard lengths of 10, 12 and 15 feet, and can be customized through Tregaskiss’ Easy As 1-2-3! program. Tregaskiss also offers 99 factory-assembled styles of TGX MIG Guns through its TGX Ready To Weld program. The TGX MIG guns now feature a black polymer armored-style gooseneck, new grey gun handles, black triggers, and a completely new rear handle.
• New QUICK LOAD™ Liner Lengths and Retainers: The liners are now available for .030, 1/16 – 5/64, and .078 – 3/32-inch diameter wires. QUICK LOAD Liners consist of a two-piece system that requires less than half the time and effort for replacement compared to conventional MIG gun liners. The welding operator simply installs the retainer in the power pin on the first use and feeds the QUICK LOAD Liner through the front end of the gooseneck during subsequent replacements.
• TOUGH GARD™ Spatter Cleaner: This all-in-one cleaning station minimizes spatter build-up and helps extend the life of robotic MIG welding consumables. It features a factory-installed sprayer and wire cutter that minimizes the need and cost for separate peripherals. The TOUGH GARD Spatter Cleaner runs on as little as 60 psi and is hard wired to integrate easily with existing robotic or PLC automation controls (runs on 24 VDC).
• TOUGH GUN™ Robotic Water-Cooled MIG Guns: The rugged new 600-amp robotic MIG gun features a gooseneck with four cooling channels (in addition to the water-cooled power cable) that increases the cooling capacity for the front-end components, making them last longer. The MIG gun also includes a durable stainless steel docking body designed to withstand prolonged duty cycles to provide reliable welding performance. The gun is compatible with Tregaskiss’ TOUGH LOCK™ Contact System.
• TOUGH GUN™ ThruArm G2 Series MIG Guns: These new air-cooled robotic MIG guns are designed to provide durability, accuracy and repeatability on through-arm style arc welding robots, including those by Motoman, FANUC, OTC/Daihen, ABB, KUKA and other robot manufacturers. Available for both clutch and solid-mount robotic systems, the MIG guns feature a QUICK LOAD™ Gooseneck system that maintains an accurate and repeatable tool center point, and requires no tools for routine replacement. The guns also use the Tregaskiss Common Consumable Platform—the same consumables for both robotic and semi-automatic MIG guns.
• TOUGH GUN G2 I.C.E. MIG Guns: The new 550 amp (at 60% duty cycle mixed gases and 100% with CO2) robotic MIG gun includes a hybrid feature that adds the benefits of water-cooling to Tregaskiss’ latest TOUGH GUN G2 Series air-cooled robotic MIG guns. The innovative I.C.E. (Integrated Cooling Enhancer) component circulates water to the nozzle, keeping front-end consumables running cooler and lasting longer. Because water flows through external, independent hoses rather than through the power cable, there is virtually no contamination of water and maintenance of the MIG gun is quick and easy.
