QUESTION: Is there a way to make my calls to Tech Services more efficient so I can get my answer as quickly as possible?

ANSWER: There sure is! From product and parts questions to more intricate technical requests, our goal is provide you with the most accurate and effective information to keep your welding operation up and running. And we don’t want to waste your time in the process! Fortunately, there are several ways to expedite your inquiries to our Tech Service experts without sacrificing the quality of the responses you receive. We’ve compiled the top three questions we regularly receive to help you along the way.

1. What’s the easiest way to order the correct parts?

At Tregaskiss, our Manufacturing Team adds a part number to each component—from our MIG guns to contact tips and nozzles—with either a roll-mark, tag or stamp. Here’s an example of where you can find them:

First, our MIG Guns all feature a part number tagged to the back spring guard, and we’ve stamped the part numbers for all of our goosenecks into the body of the neck. Our consumables, including retaining heads, tips and nozzles each has a part number roll-marked on them too. For example, you’ll find the nozzle part number just above the crimp. Our retaining heads have the part number featured at the base and contact tips have it stamped on the outside diameter.

Check out these areas for your part number to simplify your orders…and to save yourself an extra trip to the tool crib!

2. What’s the most effective way to obtain drawings or data files to use with simulation software or reach studies?

Our Tech Services experts can provide drawings or data files for use with simulation software or reach studies in a few easy steps. We just need to know the file format and components you require.

For example, just tell us if you need 2D or 3D drawings and the best format for your application (i.e. STEP or IGES). Or if you need a robotic system, simply provide the insulating disc part number, the mounting arm style, the type of mount (clutch or solid) and the MIG gun required (e.g. air-cooled 500 amp or water-cooled quick change 650 amp or similar). We’ll get the right drawing or data file for you…right away!

Even if you don’t know the part number for your components, our Tech Service experts can help. All we require is the make and model of your robot and to know whether your application is air- or water-cooled. And don’t forget to let us know your preferred gooseneck angle, contact tip style, tip location and nozzle bore to complete the request.

It’s that simple!

3. How can competitive components be replaced with Tregaskiss components?

Whether you want to replace your competitive MIG gun or your consumables with Tregaskiss components, it only takes a few steps to get the job done. First, let us know the brand, model, amperage and style of your current semi-automatic or robotic MIG gun. Part numbers are helpful, too. Our Tech Service experts will quickly find the comparable Tregaskiss MIG gun to suit your needs.

If you are considering consumable replacement, just tell us the contact tip or nozzle style, appropriate diameter and sizes, and any additional identifying aspects of your current components.

Replacing specialty components with Tregaskiss parts might require more in-depth information but we’ll still get the right options for you. Our Account Managers are trained how to measure existing installations for determining the right TOUGH GUN products for your application. Just give us a call and one of our Tech Service experts will get you in touch with a local Tregaskiss representative. They’ll help you make the transition to the right Tregaskiss product.

We know how busy your schedule is and that you’d rather be keeping your welding operation up and running than talking on the phone. We hope these tips from our Tech Service experts help you do just that.
